Academic Events: Brexit

On the 15th of February the Academic Events Team had their first academic event. The iCES and Senior European Experts joint seminar, has received a positive feedback from the participants. The panel was based on distinguished speakers from business, government and politics that debated on the options of UK, in terms of international relations.

After the unexpected vote the predictions were dramatic in terms of British politics. For this reason the whole UK’s economic and foreign policies were thrown into doubt. However the implications go well beyond government and politics. The impact will be felt on businesses throughout Europe and beyond.

The British Government has stated it will start the negotiations about its withdrawal from the EU in March 2017. Before then, it must decide what kind of relationship it wants with the EU and with the rest of the world.
